This utility is useful in quick-response situations or automated schemes.
Warning! JM Pager program must be running in order to send messages.
Usage: cmd_jm "host:" "file:" "mess:"
All three parameters must be written down.
If you don't want to send a file, then leave the 'file' parameter intact - "file:"
Examples:
1) To send message 'Attention! HJ attempt was made' to the computer 'comp-1' - type:
cmd_jm "host:comp-1" "file:" "mess: Attention! HJ attempt was made"
2) To send message 'Read it, please' and a file to the computer 'comp-1' - type:
cmd_jm "host:comp-1" "file:c:\work\readme.doc" "mess: Read it, please"
New features and fixes in version 2.20:
- New interface (we hope you will like our new icon set)
- Added support for domain suffixes. Now you can add domain to host name:
'mycomp.mydomain.com' instead of just 'mycomp'
If you are an admin then put '$' character after full dns name:
'mycomp.mydomain.com$' ('mycomp$.mydomain.com' won't be right)
- Added application updater. It uses the next scheme:
1) You should create subfolder "pager" in the folder where you had put hosts.jm.
2) There you can unzip any new "JM PAGER" package. Update will occur during JM Pager loading.
- With new version you can have network inventory (called computer's database).
New program - 'Computers' (computers database viewer - comps.exe) let you see all information about computers on your network (provided they all have JM Pager installed). To obtain network computer's database you need click button - 'Fill computers database' in 'Advanced'. After a minute run 'Computers'.
- Added hot keys support for displaying main window of pager.
Just press 'Control-Shift-F12' and the pager will pop up.
- Fixed disappearance of the pager's icon in case of Explorer crash. Now it reloads correctly.
- Added a new feature - "Fast replies". In order to send fast reply - press 'down' button in button's panel in the main program window and choose a reply, then press 'Send' button.
